ANNOUNCEMENT – ROUND-TABLE IN TORONTO – NOVEMBER 23rd, 2018

As human rights actor/actress, we would like to invite you to a roundtable on Friday, November 23 2018 (9:30 am to 12:30 pm) at the University of Toronto.

Inscription required on Eventbrite.

Our Project: Opening Up to the Americas

Our four-year project Opening up to the Americas in order to protect human rights and engage in reconciliation aims to build bridges between Canadian and Latin American organizations working in the field of human rights and reconciliation to have a discussion on objectives, obstacles faced and strategies implemented. Our initiative lies in the conviction that Canadian organizations can learn from Latin American experience and vice versa, and that greater dialogue is desirable. The ultimate objective of the project is the formulation of joint recommendations to Canadian public and authorities to enhance existing strategies and enable new ones for a better protection of human rights and a genuine engagement in reconciliation in Canada.

Roundtables: Make Yourself Heard

Before getting to that dialogue with Latin American organizations, which will start by next year, we first need to know what are Canadian organizations’ objectives, as well as the obstacles that they are confronted and what strategies they use to overcome them. This discussion takes place on the occasion of roundtables that we are holding throughout Canada.

It is a great occasion for you and your organization to share the obstacles you face in your work, and highlight the issues you are dealing with.

Please confirm your attendance subscribing on EventBrite before November 1st, 2018. Do not hesitate to write us for more information and forward this event to all organizations interested.
Our roundtables are free and reserved to human rights stakeholders.

We are looking forward to meeting and hearing you on Friday, November 23!
