In May 2018, Prof. Bernard Duhaime and members of the research team had the opportunity to present the SOAA project and to speak with representatives of Global Affairs Canada (Global Affairs Canada) and with representatives from the Department of Justice Canada.

These particularly fruitful exchanges included the opportunity to discuss the objectives, challenges and obstacles faced by Canada’s governmental authorities with respect to human rights, transitional justice and reconciliation, as well as to discuss logistics, risks and ways of protecting privacy in relation to the development of networks between human rights organizations across the Americas, with regard to the tools offered by new information technologies.
